Carlo's Pizzeria
The Ferraro family is from Santa Margherita di Belice, Sicily. Mr. and Mrs. Ferraro originally commuted to the pizzeria from Queens but moved to Manor Park in August of 1987. Prior to moving to Long Island, Mr. Ferraro would sleep on a pull out couch in the basement of the pizzeria. On Sunday nights when he drove back home, he would carry his son Frankie eight blocks back to their apartment.
After moving out east to raise their family, all four children attended Manorville school district. Frankie and Sal graduated from Westhampton Beach High School. Both boys started working at the pizzeria in elementary school and continued employement there while attending college. Now both Frankie and Sal enjoy operating the pizzeria with their father.
Frank loves working close to home and having a flexible schedule that allows him to be very involved in the lives and activities of his three children, Massimio, Joseph, and Gianna. He has been happily married for ten years and is very involved in our local community coaching football and baseball for elementary school kids. During the summer he runs football camp and the youth PAO football league. He is also the assistant PAL representative for ESM school district.
Sal has been happily married for four years and is enjoying his two daughters and new baby boy Joseph. Being a very family oriented man he has enjoyed watching the pizzeria grow with the community. Sal loves dealing with his customers and getting to see their families grow up.
When Carlos’ opened in 1986, it was operated by three employees. Now they are employing upward of seventeen employees and look forward to opening their new location and providing the community with additional job opportunities.
Frankie, Sal, and Mr. Ferraro met with Mr. Roy and came to an agreement immediately. The lease was signed in June 2014 and their Manorville Restaurant and Pizzeria opened in March 2017.
